Comparison of Database Management System and Information...

1.A) Differentiate between database management system and information retrieval system by focusing on their functionalities. Database Management System or DBMS or short, is a set of computer programs that are responsible for creating, editing, deleting and generally maintain a database or a collection of data records. database management system is determined by the database system. The database model is how the method of collecting the data is stored, managed and administered. Among them are: ï ± catalogs, books or other types of documents ï ± computerized bibliographic ï ± address directory ï ± newspapers, magazines, journals ï ± collection ï ± intranet search engines Advantages of DBMS are : ï ¶ increase unavailable: One of the principle advantages of DBMS is the same information can be provided to different users. ï ¶ surplus Scale : Data in a DBMS is easier because , as a general rule , information appears only once . This can reduce data redundancy, or in other words , constantly repeating the same data . Lose excess because it can reduce the cost of storing data on disks and other storage devices . ï ¶ Accuracy : Accurate , consistent, and regularly update the date data is a sign of data integrity. The opportunity to make mistakes is higher if you need to change the same data to several different places where you need to make changes in one place. ï ¶ consistent programs and files : Using database management systems , file formats and programs of the system are standard. MULTIMEDIA BIG DATA MANAGEMENT PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS After categorizing multimedia big data, the next important phase in the data management cycle is its processing and analysis. So far, the possible types, sources and perspectives of multimedia big data have been highlighted; but this is only the first of the necessary stages in big data management. Generally, the stages involved in big data processing and analysis include data acquisition, data extraction, data representation, modelingRead MoreUsing Structured Query Language ( Sql ) And Query1075 Words   |  5 PagesABSTRACT Structured Query Language (SQL) and Query by Example (QBE) are two of the most commonly used programming languages for Relational Data source Management Solutions (RDBMS s). However, both of these software solutions have complications pertaining to ease-of-use, especially in expressing simple quantification, indicating complex nested queries, and adaptability and thickness in demonstrating queries data return capabilities. To alleviate these types of problems, an additional query languageRead MoreAnalysis Of Joins And Semi Joins1395 Words   |  6 Pagesand Distributed Database Queries Komala Deepthi Sapireddy 10989274 Abstract: Centralized database management and distributed database management systems are the two different approaches for storing and for managing different databases. Irrespective of whichever approach used, the retrieval of data from central repository poses as a main challenge specially when using multiple tables. Primitive operations such as joins and semi joins used for the retrieval of necessary information from multiple tablesRead More3Ms New Information System Research Paper 1543 Words   |  7 Pages3M s New Information System Research Paper Intro The business environment is very competitive. Consequently, companies need to offer customers efficient and reliable service. If they do not, customers will switch to more consumer efficient companies. Furthermore, as companies grow in size, it becomes harder to keep track of the growing amount of customer information. If a company does a poor job of organizing and maintaining customer records and data, it can result in problems for both the companyRead MoreRelational Databases For An Efficient Data Management And Retrieval Of Data1032 Words   |  5 Pagesfor an efficient data management and retrieval of data has always been an issue due to the growing need in business and academia. To resolve these issues a number of databases models have been created. Relational databases allow data storage, retrieval and manipulation using a standard Structured Query Language (SQL). Until now, relational databases were an optimal enterprise storage choice. However, with an increase in grow th of stored and analyzed data, relational databases have displayed a varietyRead MoreText Document Clustering Approach Using Document Similarity Measure With K Means Algorithm1541 Words   |  7 Pagessheikhnajim4@gmail.com2,bharat.dhak@gmail.com3, mausami_sawarkar@rediffmail.com4 Abstract: Document clustering is way of automatic organization of documents into clusters so that documents within a cluster have high similarity in comparison to documents in other clusters. It is measuring similarity between documents and grouping similar documents together. The study of similarity measure for clustering is initially motivated by a research on automated text categorization. There wasRead MoreUsing Lucene And Clustering Libraries2077 Words   |  9 Pagessmallaselineskip=9pt Near miss reporting systems store events and hazardous conditions reported by individuals to safety departments. This project develops a system matches near miss events to similar events allowing an analyst to quickly find the number of prior events and determine how they were audited. Result shows how frequently the near miss occurs. User can have comparison resolution and analysis base on best similar records on safety auditing process. Final system suggests the predicted matches basedRead MoreA Survey On Data Annotation For Web Databases1020 Words   |  5 Pagesprecision than the present systems.
